Self Responsibility

Self Responsibility
August 30, 2013 Clare Evans

selfSomeone once said that when you’ve made a mistake, the two easiest things in the world to do, are;

1)   Make an excuse

2)   Blame someone else

Both take the attention off of self and clearly point the finger elsewhere!

We are human and we all make mistakes, it’s ok!  So please don’t be so hard on yourself.  After all it’s through our mistakes that we are given the opportunity to learn & grow!  Never mind if you don’t though, as the Universe has a way of repeating our lessons until we do.  It’s up to us to assimilate and incorporate what we need from these lessons; for ourselves, our lives & our world.

The point of power is always in the present moment, so once you realise that you’ve made a mistake, stop and ask yourself;

1)   Am I making an EXCUSE?

2)   Am I blaming someone ELSE?

If the answer to either question is yes, be aware enough to take responsibility for yourself and your actions.  Let go of any excuses or people to blame and acknowledge that YOU were the one whom made the mistake and therefore take full responsibility.

Be open to explore the lesson behind the mistake.  Turn the attention completely back to self and express any surfacing emotions (in a safe way).  When you get the opportunity, explore the mistake through self reflection or meditation, and ask yourself;

* What were the consequences of my actions, for myself and others?

* What could I have done differently?

* What can I learn from this experience?

Allow yourself to completely detach, connect with your higher self and see the bigger picture.  You may even like to imagine how positive things would be with your newfound awareness, if the same situation occurred.

Then it’s time to let the experience (mistake) go, whilst keeping the lesson.  This is made easier when knowing that you are and will be in the future; fully responsible for yourself and your actions!  You may also choose to affirm;

“I am responsible for myself, and I am responsible for my actions”.
